  • P1010413  we bought a brand new kayak for $250 today. no lie. we're on a budget and we both decided to be incredibly frivilous and take this crazy deal (it was 70% off MSRP and was still in the wrapping, but not the box?). so...we own a nissan sentra and a pontiac bonneville...and a kayak. we can't use it until we get a roof rack, or my favorite option, an fj cruiser with a roof rack. but...adam was spontaneous...so that means i can't be. boo. but yay for kayaks! even if they are too big for our cars and our guest room. hope my mother-in-law likes to sleep in a kayak. if not...she might be in trouble!

    nothing

i've heard nothing. i do nothing. i buy nothing (which, is the good thing among this list).

so i exagerate, but that's ok. i'm ready to hear from the library. it's my dream job (for now). eventually, i will work in an elementary library. i look forward to that day...and i will eat a brownie because i ran today.

well, my brother is a freshman at lee university in cleveland, tennessee. i drove over (it's only 4 hours) and visited with mom for a couple of days...to help keep her mind occupied during the down times. it'll be nice to see my brother more often. we're hoping to make a trip to see him in a couple of months. please pray for him because one, he's a freshman, and two, he still doesn't have a room. classes started today and he's living in a hotel and his stuff is in storage. that makes the transition a little strange.

in other "news", i have applied for a library assistant position. i'm praying that i get this one. it'll be perfect! but first, i have to find a cord for our printer. we just have the cord for the desk top, not the laptop. we'll see what i can find on my own...i'm more than slightly overwhelmed by technology and don't understand it much at all. that may be adam's "chore" on saturay, unless his brother and dad come into town.

well, it's time to clean the kitchen and get the house ready for hang-out time tonight! woohoo!!!

evidently, neil diamond left...and is now returning, but i don't know from WHERE!

also, i realized WHEN (i'm thinking more positively than more realistically) i get a full-time job at clemson, we can pay off our debt in one year. then for one year i can take 1 class at a time online and save all my paycheck so in year 3 i can go to school full-time and year four, i'll graduate with a master's in library science and land a job in an public school library, preferrably a litte school. they're more fun! FOUR YEARS! i'm so excited i can't stand it and it makes sitting at home even harder to deal with! oh well, this, too, shall pass. alright, just thought i'd share my newest insight into the life of a future librarian!

  • a fragmented post

so far, no go on the 5k. we'll see how a week with no painting, late nights, and too much food goes.

i have worked one shift. i'm still looking for jobs. go figure.

grad school = expensive. gre = scary. hopes and dreams = unsure

do i really want to be a librarian? umm..yes. i think.

ugg. not the boots. the feeling when one has to drive to get teh schedule for a job.

baseball's in town. adam had a birthday. we had a party that had cornhole, food, play-doh, cigars, and beer. yay for said party! friends move in this weekend.
